My Counseling Approach

I am so glad you’re here! My goal is to create a space where my clients feel safe to tackle challenging emotional work. For this, I utilize an eclectic client centered approach. This means I will select assessments, treatments, and therapeutic approaches based on my client’s individual needs. I strive to help my clients on their journey toward a life built on fulfilling, empathetic, and compassionate relationships. As social creatures, a lot of our happiness is based on our upbringing, our formative relationships, and our family - chosen or given. Together, we will explore the why/who/where/etc. of what makes you the person you are today and where you wish to go.

An inclusive telehealth therapy model

Please know, I strive to hold a safe space for every client to process what is on their heart regardless of their race, gender identity, sexual orientation, place of origin, age, or ability. I am deeply committed to creating an accepting and supportive environment for all. A common thread which runs through my present life, my future ambitions, and the imprint I hope to leave behind is empathy and compassion. Empathy and compassion can build bridges spanning all manner of human experiences and I will make it my work to build those bridges with my clients.

My Background

Before obtaining my master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, I spent my early career in the corporate world, working with spreadsheets and on computers. I found that I would not be fulfilled if I was not working with people and having a positive impact on the world around me. I believe a global perspective has helped me to build my empathetic abilities. I was born in Germany and moved a great deal throughout my life. I was raised speaking German and English.

I have always been intrigued by the stories and experiences of others which is what lead to my bachelor’s degree in English Literature and minor in Spanish, and – ultimately – my decision to receive my master’s degree, cum laude, in Clinical Mental Health Counseling.

In my free-time I enjoy being a cat-mom to three amazing purrbabies. Not to mention, exploring the great state of Colorado with my wife, and our dog.
